The Jazz Approach is an airline‑aligned training pathway created with Jazz Aviation and CAE. Students complete the majority of the program at Cygnet in Kingston and finish with a short Jet Orientation phase at CAE Toronto. Eligible applicants receive a conditional offer from Jazz at the outset.

Career pathway to Jazz Aviation

What your training includes
Diamond Aircraft Fleet
Training begins on Cygnet’s Diamond DA20, DA40 and DA42, building a strong foundation before airline-level operations
simulation training
Training includes nearly 90 hours on ALSIM ALX and AL4x simulators, using scenario-based, airline-aligned training.
Multi-Crew Coordination (MCC)
A 45-hour MCC program taught by airlines pilots, simulating real-world 705-level two-crew operations.
Jet Orientation Training
A short phase of Jet Orientation Training at CAE Toronto prepares students for CRJ procedures and multi‑crew airline operations.
Instruction & Student Support
Cygnet’s instructional team includes experienced former airline and military pilots who bring real‑world operational insight into every stage of training. Students also benefit from mentorship provided by Jazz Aviation pilots, who support their development and help prepare them for airline‑aligned operations. With an approximate 1:6 instructor‑to‑student ratio, students receive individualized coaching and continuous guidance. The training environment is further supported through weekly study halls, monthly student representative meetings, quarterly town halls, and skill‑building sessions that reinforce professional growth and readiness.
